Being Loose and Transparent!

Loose and Transparent Colour Explorations!
During February I took a zoom course and stepped back in to the realm of large, intuitive landscape painting. It was such a wonderful time of explorations with colours and mark making.

I was mentored through the process of using transparent colours, layer upon layer. Brushes of various sizes and an assortment of mark making tools. The course took place over two days. I was working in acrylics on a 30 by 40 canvas.

The final painting is called,

Step into a world bursting with effervescent vitality with "A Field of Colours," where imagination runs wild on a canvas alight with a festival of hues. This enchanting piece dances with a bold symphony of deep reds, vibrant oranges, and sunny yellows, all sprinkled with whimsical touches of purple and green. It's as if a meadow of wildflowers has been captured mid-bloom, swirling in the breeze of an endless summer’s day.
With each gaze, you'll be drawn into a cascade of expressive brushstrokes, layered to create a tapestry that plays with light and shadow, adding depth and movement to this expressive landscape. Every stroke breathes life into the canvas, evoking the joyous clamor of nature at her most exuberant. The colors mingle and play, each vying for your attention in a delightful choreography reminiscent of a bustling outdoor fiesta.
This piece calls forth the joyful spontaneity of a sun-drenched field where petals rustle with the laughter of the wind. Imagine wandering through this landscape, where every corner promises a new discovery, a splash of color that sparks your imagination anew. "A Field of Colours" invites you to lose yourself in its vibrant embrace, to let go of the mundane and surrender to the irresistible pull of its chaotic beauty. Dive in, let your spirit dance among the colors, and relish the joyful abandon that only a heartfelt connection with the natural world can bring.
