This painting was done pleine air at Steveston Stock and Seed Farm in Richmond, BC. It is a heritage farm located on the west end of Lulu Island. I took artistic license and called this painting, ‘An Old Garden Rose Reine Victoria circa 1910’ because I imagined that the old rose I was looking at might have been planted many years ago.  The Reine Victoria rose was an early  David Austin Rose for those gardeners out there!
