The Queen Anne Hydrangea resides by my front door.  The plant absorbs coolness in this protected, sheltered area.  For awhile, the sun can reach through the foliage to splash heat onto the white heads.  The warmth doesn't penetrate the Queen Anne because she has shrouded herself with the coolness of the earth and the shadows of the shade.
